Family Life @ The Covenant

Family Life @ The Covenant is about providing opportunities where parents and children can experience God's love and grace as they spend time together, build new relationships and learn more about how to do life in family.

Young Family Ministry

Young Family Events

Several times during the year our Young Family Ministry Team plans events for our young families.  These can include cookouts, potlucks, games night, and nice dinners for couples.  These events are a great way for young families to find support, connect with other families and have a chance to talk with others about the issues that are important to you.

Take A Break Night

Once a month, October - May, parents, grandparents or primary care givers are invited to drop the kids off at the church for the evening (6:00 - 9:00 p.m.).  The kids will be cared for, fed and have a great time.  There is no cost for this.  Parents and caregivers are encouraged to use the time for a date, shopping or just some down time.   Check the church calendar for dates, sign up in the Courtyard at the church or call the church office.

Marriage Enrichment

Each year there is a Marriage Enrichment Event held at The Covenant.  This is an opportunity for for married or engaged couples, or individuals wishing to learn more about God's plan for marriage to spend a day listening to great speakers and interacting on challenging topics.  Check with the church office for dates, or watch the web site.

Parent Education

At different times during the year opportunities for parent education are offered.  Please watch for those posing either here or on the Classes/Small Groups Page.

Classes & Small Groups

Young Family Small Group (Sundays, 9:00 a.m. in the Cafe, Sept. - May)

The Young Families Sunday morning group is a time for parents to spend in fellowship with other parents, share prayer requests and grow in our relationship with God, our kids and each other.  The study material varies from group studies on parenting, our relationship with God, books of the Bible, and others as we see needs arise from the group.  We are currently studying the book of Ephesians  Join us and see what this grace looks like in our families.

How We Love Our Kids (This class is being offered on Wednesday Nights)

Learn from Milan and Kay Yerkovich as they draw on the powerful tool of attachment theory and the Scriptures to show how your early life experiences create an imprint of intimacy that shapes every interaction with your kids.  This class will help you identify which of the five love styles you have and learn specific ways you can grow.  You will also discover the surprising dynamics that shape your parenting.  Parents (of every stage in parenting) and grand-parents are encouraged to attend this class.
