June 25 - July 5, 2008

What is it?

Every year we sponsor the big Generous Jerry’s Fireworks Tent in the Marketplace Foods parking lot as a fundraiser. It’s fully staffed by all volunteers from the youth group and the church. We’re generally able to raise between $5000 & $8000 which goes toward funding a variety camps, retreats, mission trips, and other large and small projects for middle school and high school students. Please, consider volunteering some of your time at the Fireworks Tent this year. It’s a lot of fun and a great cause!

Benefits of the Fundraiser

Over the last two years...

Summer Bible Camp - $4000: We’ve provided $50 scholarships to 70 students plus several full scholarships for another handful of students.

Mission Trips - $2000: We’ve provided funding for 23 students and adults on mission trips to Minneapolis, New Orleans, and Ecuador.

Retreats/Conferences - $1500: Additional funds have been used to reduce the cost of such retreats and conferences as the Revolve Conference for Girls in Minneapolis, Sonshine Music Festival in Willmar for High School students, and MUUUCE for Middle School students.

Youth Room Remodeling - $5000: Two years ago we remodeled the youth room (painting, furniture, sound system) and were able to cover some of our expenses from the funds raised through the Fireworks Fundraiser.

Miscellaneous Projects and Youth Ministry Needs - $1500: At various times of the year we use our fireworks money (a.k.a. youth scholarship fund) to pay for youth ministry expenses that aren’t covered in the budget. Examples are the recent dodge ball game against the E. Free Church, game equipment for the youth room, bus transportation for the Hawk Nelson concert and the ski trip to Giants Ridge..
